One of the largest obstacles police face today is a lack of trust created through negative perception. By expanding on the value of community policing, establishing the necessary groundwork for implementation, and examining reasons for the divide, will allow for an understanding of what will and will not work. The use of community policing and an interdisciplinary approach to the administration of this program from police and public administrators can lead to a successful policing and governing program beneficial to all citizens.en_US
