| dc.description.abstract | The United Fruit Company Medical Department was formally founded in 1912, however there were already several hospitals owned an operated by the United fruit company before that. Through my Honors class I have been researching not only the creation of the United Fruit Company Medical Department but their role on shaping the world of medicine. I look at information from the first 20 published annual reports (1912-1931) regarding death rates, diseases, and patient summaries. | en_US |
