Abstract
Social Media has become very popular over the last decade. People use it to share photos of travel, outfits they wore, their family, and to stay connected to friends and family in distant locations. Something not often considered is social media in the workplace, company policies regarding social media, and how it may impact employee performance. Using a systemic literature review, this study examines the use of multiple social media in knowledge work and explores the contribution of activity theory for such a study. It also examines how social media may improve or reduce coherence in work activities.
