Abstract
Students are affected by the impact of food insecurity. The lack of nutritious food has been found to impact an individual’s mental health, depending on their access to the appropriate food a person needs daily to remain healthy. The issue of not being properly nourished is causing students to develop mental health issues that lead to more stress, depression, and anxiety. This study utilized data collected from currently enrolled NKU students, ages 18 and older. Results are expected to indicate how food insecurity and mental illness are correlated, and potentially find a resolution from the trends occurring in the research.
