Substance use can have a negative effect on people’s ability to be successful at school and work. Moreover, substance use is associated with high incarceration rates.  Very little is known about the relationship between substance use and prior incarceration among NKU students. This research will examine the impact of substance use on NKU students and how substance use is related to incarceration.  The anticipated sample for this IRB-approved study consists of 200-300 NKU students.  The results will give insight into the prevalence of substance use and past incarceration at NKU. Furthermore, it will assist in advocating for needed resources.en_US
