Andrew Preston and the Success of the United Fruit Company

Abstract

The subject of my research presentation will be on the influence of Andrew Preston on the early success of the banana industry. This analysis will be based on an examination of primary and secondary sources. My presentation will analyze how Andrew Preston helped to grow the United Fruit Company during his time on the board of directors and as the president. Thanks to Preston’s influence, the United Fruit Company was able to reap the benefits of its continued success in the early 1900’s.
