Abstract
Sexual assault victims often choose not to report. This study seeks to examine the barriers that prevent sexual assault victims from going to the authorities. Additionally, it examines NKU students’ awareness of sexual assault resources on campus. A self-administered, IRB-approved survey is expected to show that many students are not aware of NKU resources related to sexual assault. Furthermore, the findings will show that guilt, stigma, and a lack of awareness of resources are the main barriers to reporting. These findings can assist NKU in better serving sexual assault victimsVT
