dc.description.abstract"The number of individuals effected by drug addiction is increasing each year. Addiction can come in many ways whether it be Alcohol, narcotics, or opioids, people fall victim every day Many people are perplexed as to why or how some become addicted to drugs. They may falsely believe that drug users lack moral values or motivation, and that they should simply choose to avoid using drugs. This presentation will inform you on what drug addiction is and how these individuals get treated. It will also explain opioid abuse and discuss interdisciplinary perspectives from different social sciences and explain how each discipline can contribute to this individual. Also provide an understanding that there is lack of treatment these individuals face daily."en_US
