Abstract
"Health disparities are preventable differences in health resulting from a social problem that disproportionately affects marginalized populations. The purpose of this study is to determine how disparities in health affect academic performance. Data was collected through a crosssectional study using non-probability, simple random sampling survey distributed through social media. Results showed that health status had no effect on academic performance however data may have been significantly impacted by the pandemic occurring at the time of data collection. The results of future research that examines the intersectionality of gender and racial identities can be used to advocate for increased accessibility to health care for students"
