dc.description.abstract"How does the design of a ballot influence the decisions a voter makes? Almost every county across the United States is in charge of designing, printing, and distributing their ballots on election day. This means that each county’s ballot will look different, both in terms of design and races. However, current research has not examined the impact these differences have on voters. We theorize that variables in ballot design will have a significant impact on roll-off. We gathered data from West Virginia’s 2018 ballots and analyzed how their design influenced roll-off. Our findings suggest that there is no significant relationship between ballot design and voter behavior, however more research is needed before this conclusion can be reached."en_US
