dc.description.abstract"An Integrative Approach Racial profiling of African Americans by members of the law enforcement is a complex issue that has been instilled in society since the beginning of the development of America. The theme that racial profiling tends to portray is keeping Black individuals in their place. Examining and addressing this problematic issue within the law enforcement will allow for officers to become aware of their own implicit biases towards members of the Black community while simultaneously establishing ways in which one can abolish racial prejudices from their culture. Doing so will also allow for Black individuals to become aware of their own implicit biases towards officers of the law. If the law enforcement is to operate on more just terms, it is imperative that we initiate more intercultural communication to reinforce the idea that while cultures may be diverse, we have more commonalities than we may be aware of. Through establishment of common ground between the disciplines of Communication and Psychology, the analyzation and implementation of various training new training techniques and polices will help bring about the demise of this complex issue we see playing out within the U.S. law enforcement system."en_US
