Abstract

"COVID-19 has now claimed the lives of over 580,000 Americans, but fighting a pathogen is not our only national crisis. Research reveals the proportion of people facing mental health challenges rises in the aftermath of such a large- scale disruption. This exploratory, cross sectional study aims to provide a picture of how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting mental health outcomes by using non-probability purposive sampling. 391 adults provided data through a self- administered survey. Data reveals the depth of the mental health crisis we are in while providing insight for how social work clinicians can impactfully respond."
