dc.description.abstract"There are clear biases between law enforcement and urban communities having resulted in strained community relations. The purpose is to understand how interactions with law enforcement impact a young adult’s perceptions of police in urban neighborhoods. A brief interview will be conducted to evaluate emerging themes within individualized experiences with law enforcement. Results are expected to show how interactions with police have direct implications on someone’s perceptions of law enforcement. The implications of this study will set a precedent for future standards of interactions for law enforcement in urban communities to heal and promote a mutually beneficial relationship."en_US
