Historical fiction tends to focus on powerful figures because historical evidence is greater for those figures. The Wanderer is an original novella focused on ordinary people at the end of the fourth century B.C.E. The themes examined include the intersection of cultures in the ancient Mediterranean and the way ordinary people interpreted questions of national identity, philosophy, and fate. While The Wanderer is a creative project, it makes use of scholarly historical and archaeological research to craft an accurate portrayal of the setting and characters.en_US
