dc.description.abstract"This paper focuses on the Importance of a Quality Physical Education program in regards to the obesity crisis in America. One of the ways to tackle this problem is to maximize the time that children spend in school. By focusing on the school day and implementing Physical Education as a class, as well as daily recess, students benefits in a multiple ways. Being physically active boosts cognitive development and increases attention spans. The benefits not only relate to medical issues, but also to psychological social problems. In recent years, Kentucky has been required to implement School Wellness Policies. This holds schools more accountable and requires them to report assessment results and mandatory minutes."en_US
