dc.description.abstract"The motivation behind this research was to find solutions for the often negative and stereotypical tropes associated with LGBTQ+ narratives that contribute to stigma and violence against LGBTQ+ society. The solution I have proposed to this complex problem is to mainstream queer-heroes who survive their depictions. I researched this complex problem through various disciplinary perspectives such as psychology, history, criminal justice, sociology and literature & film. I believe there is still room for research in more scholarly conversations that pertain to this complex problem. In conclusion, I welcome new and alternative contributions to the conversation of this complex problem."en_US
