Abstract
"The literature suggests that drug use has increased significantly over the past few years. Furthermore, drug use can negatively affect a person’s academic, physical, and mental wellbeing, as well as their family relationships. This cross-sectional study, which utilizes an electronic survey, will examine the relationship between the frequency of drug use and the quality of family relationships. The findings are expected to show that drug use is associated with less positive familial relationships. These findings will help social workers advocate for substance use programming and improved social supports for individuals suffering from substance use disorders."
