dc.description.abstract"Anxiety is a common mental health concern that affects all races and genders. Research suggests that everyday behaviors used to cope with anxiety can reinforce maladaptive functioning. The purpose of this study is to examine the common behaviors college students use to cope with their anxiety. This exploratory, cross-sectional study uses non-probability sampling and a self- administered, electronic survey. The results from this study are expected to show that college students often use maladaptive coping strategies when faced with anxiety provoking situations. Findings of this study may highlight the need for further intervention and psychoeducation as it relates to coping behaviors."en_US
