Abstract:
"Research suggests that those with anxiety tend to feel the need to control things around them in order to feel at ease. However, controlling behavior has never been identified as a coping strategy, and very little is known about this behavior in the realms of anxiety. This crosssectional, self-administered survey will examine the prevalence of controlling behavior and how it is associated with anxiety. The results from this survey are expected to show that there is a direct relationship between anxiety and controlling behavior. These findings can aid social workers and other mental health professionals in the fight against anxiety."
