Special Collections and University Archives Finding Aids

Permanent URI for this community

Finding aids provide information about a specific group of records: their content, creator and organizational structure. Research materials in NKU’s Special Collections and University Archives (SC&UA) are kept in two distinct categories. Records created by NKU offices are maintained in record groups (RG). Materials created or collected by community members and donated to SC&UA are part of the manuscript holdings (MS). These materials document specific aspects of life in our region that the department collects. Finding aids describe both digital and analog materials. The Digital Repository contains a portion of the digital research materials available in SC&UA. Materials available in the Digital Repository are noted in their respective finding aid. Individual items are linked back to their respective finding aid if one exists. Researchers can access the remaining analog and digital resources by visiting the Special Collections and University Archives, 106 Steely Library, Monday – Friday, 1-4 pm, or by appointment. This Finding Aid Community includes copies of all finding aids located within the Digital Repository. When available, each separate community also contains a duplicate copy of their respective finding aid. Additional finding aids for manuscript collections that haven’t been migrated to the repository yet are on the department’s website at https://inside.nku.edu/library/find/unique-collections/special-collections-archives/alphabeticallist.html.
