This short story takes some creative license by going off the idea that one of Douglass’ fore-mothers was born in the fictional village of Adazi (located in modern day South East Nigeria, West Africa). The whole story is being told from the shaman’s perspective, whose ability to see across oceans has allowed the Muojeke clan to keep themselves updated on the lives of their descendants.
