The main purpose of the Undergraduate Research in Organic Chemistry Course (UROCC) is for students to incorporate modern lab techniques and digital tools, scientific thinking, and collaboration. Students get to implement these skills by conducting research to synthesize bioactive heterocyclic tropinone derivatives in an attempt to develop a drug candidate for breast cancer.
