Abstract

This research study evaluates how financial and socioeconomic factors influence the decision to pursue or not pursue higher education. Previous studies have found that financial factors are the main reasoning behind attending graduate programs. This is especially true when it comes to students from lower-income backgrounds. It is expected that undergraduate students will select financial factors as the most influential reasoning in regard to their decision. These findings may provide more insight into the understanding behind the choices of graduate students. Lastly, NKU can provide their students with more assistance when it comes to selecting graduate programs.
