Abstract

"Perceived discrimination in healthcare settings influences vulnerable populations, fostering feelings of distrust and decreased engagement in care. Literature regarding the impact of discrimination on college students is scarce. This study examines perceptions of discrimination in healthcare settings and their impact on access to healthcare in college students. Data were collected by administering online surveys via social media. It is expected that individuals who experienced more discrimination are to access healthcare less often than those who have not had these experiences. Findings could be used to better understand the relationship between perceived discrimination and its impact on healthcare access among college students."
