Abstract

"Despite the myth that intimate partner violence occurs exclusively in heterosexual couples, research suggests that incidence rates are comparable if not higher in same- sex couples. The purpose of this study is to examine the rate of incidence (ROI) of intimate partner violence (IPV) in same-sex couples versus mixed-sex couples. A brief, self – administered survey will be used to assess for sexuality and rate of incidence. Due to the limited research on this topic, it is essential to create a safe space where this subject can be openly discussed and addressed"
