Abstract

There is not a definitive case plan for treating alcoholism. It is imperative to find the root cause that contributed to alcoholism in order effectively administer proper care.  With other recovery efforts put in place, cognitive behavioral therapy is proven most effective in treating alcohol disorders when childhood trauma is present.
