Abstract

In the United States, immigrant populations are increasing, specifically Spanish-speaking immigrants originating from South America and Mexico. Due to the nature of their situation the basic needs of immigrants, such as healthcare, can go unmet. How do the needs of Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati Spanish-speaking immigrants compare to those of Spanish-speaking immigrants nationally? By volunteering in the local community and comparing those experiences to academic articles about national trends, I was able to discover that the needs of immigrants, and how people are finding solutions to those needs, are not very different on the local and national level.
