Abstract

As the cost of post-secondary education rises, heavier financial burdens are placed upon families and students resulting in escalating rates of food insecurity among college students. This study seeks to examine the relationship between experiences with food insecurity before and after enrollment at NKU. A brief self-administered survey was used to assess the rates of food insecurity before and after enrollment. The results of the RBI approved study are expected to show an increase in food insecurity after enrollment. These findings will allow social workers to identify preventative measures, reducing the number of food insecure students.
